Obituary For Rosemary Alma Miller



Rosemary Alma Miller, 89, of 1130 Trogdon Drive, died Sunday afternoon at her home surrounded by her loving daughters. A memorial service will be held at The Church of the Epiphany, 538 Henry Street, Eden at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 6. The family will have a private interment at the Overlook Cemetery Mausoleum following the service. Rosemary was born March 3, 1922 in Marcellus, New York to the late Charles and Marian Gallinger. She was the eldest of six children and was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Gerald Kenneth Miller; her parents; brothers, Charles and Fred Gallinger; sisters, Dorothy Bryd and Beverly Dodrill; and her dear friend Halda Fair. . She is survived by four daughters: Diane Vaughn & husband, Dr. Robert Vaughn of Eden; Kenette Robertson & husband, Dan of Charlotte; Cathy Covington and Gary Covington of Eden; Cindy Baker of Wilmington and Steve Baker of Eden; and her brother, Robert Gallinger and wife, Renate of Mobile, Alabama. ‚âà??Grandmother Rosie‚Äö?Ñ?? is survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren: Whitney Vaughn-Finley, husband Joseph, and daughter Vivian of Wilmington; Lindsay Fisher and husband, Kenneth of Wilmington; Dr. Matthew Robertson, wife Shana, and son Logan of Pineville, NC; Emily Parsons, husband Sam, and son Grayson of Greenville, SC; Katie Rowinski, husband Jeffrey, and daughter Allie Rose of Raleigh; Keisha Snodderly and husband Tom, daughter Sophie and son Noah of Buford, Georgia; Brittany Baker, and daughter Ella of Wilmington; and Shelley Baker of Wilmington. Mrs. Miller was a chemistry major at Syracuse University, a member of The Church of the Epiphany, and a life-long member of the Out-Our-Way Garden Club. Her daughters (‚Äö?Ñ?ªThe Miller Girls‚Äö?Ñ‚àû), her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren were her life. The family is so thankful and sincerely grateful for the loving care, compassion, and sensitivity given by Dr. Kevin Howard and Valerie Cruise over the many years of Mrs. Miller‚Äö?Ñ??s illness. Special thanks also to Misty, Leandra, and Stephanie with Hospice of Rockingham County who provided support the last few days of her life. And the family will be forever grateful to our sister Cathy whose precious hands, warm heart, and loving spirit cared for our mother for so many years. There are no words to express our gratitude for this gift to our mother. The family will receive friends immediately following the church service or at other times at the home of Bob and Diane Vaughn, 631 Wildflower Lane.
