Obituary For Christine Lewis Powell Christine Lewis Powell, 96, formerly of Meadow Road in Eden, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Morehead Nursing Center. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 10 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs Powell was born June 18, 1914 in Stokes County, NC, daughter of the late Judson and Beulah Wade Lewis. She was a member of Spray Baptist Church. Surviving is her sister, Novella Lewis Sullivan of Stoneville; niece, Modena Price and husband, Bernard of Danbury, NC; and four nephews, Archie Carter of Greensboro, Lowell Lewis and wife, Dot of Greensboro, Phillip Lewis of Greensboro, and Wade Carter and wife, Skippy of Raleigh. In additon to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Edward Powell; brother, Walter Franklin Lewis; and sister, Elizabeth Lewis Carter. The family will receive friends a half hour prior to the service on Friday (10:30 am to 11 am) at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.
