In Loving Memory of Our Beloved father Ralph Withers Harvey

With heavy hearts and cherished memories. Ralph passed away peacefully in his home on March 1st, surrounded by his loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and unwavering faith that will forever remain in our hearts.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 4th at 2:00pm in the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held Sunday, March 3rd from 5-7 at Fair Funeral Home.

Born May 24,1943, in Rockingham County NC, to the late Frederick W Harvey and Lillie M Harvey. Ralph attended Wentworth School and graduated with the class of 1962.

He began his working career at Fieldcrest Mills, Zarn Plastic, Good Year and Miller Brewery In addition to his main job on 3rd shift he always worked 1st shift driving for central ready Mix and then Johnston Nursey. Upon his first retirement he bought his on Rig and drove for another 10 years and retired for the second time. He was not one to sit at home, so he embarked out of retirement again to drive for Cundiff Trucking delivering Wood Chips. Ralph had a love for the highway if he wasn’t on them while working, he was enjoying them on his motorcycle. He had many adventures with his cousin Tommy Carter going down south and his long-time friend Harold Vassar out west and up thru Canada. He was always willing to help anyone in need he rode on numerous- charity rides to benefit children.

Ralph exemplified the virtues of hard work and determination throughout his life. His dedication and drive, and most importantly his faith carried him through life, earning him respect and admiration of all who crossed his path. His smile and bright eyes could brighten even the darkest of days, his greatest joy was found in the company of his loved ones when not behind the wheel. Ralph found his greatest strength in his unwavering faith, and his belief in the power of prayer. He was a faithful member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church.

Ralph was met at Heavens Gates by his parents Fred and Lillie Harvey, and a host of others.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory children Becky Lipford (Bill), Jason Harvey, and Wendy Gilley (Mike), grandchildren Stephanie Criner, Katie Lipford, Tyler Lipford, Blake and Landon Harvey, Jonathan Balser, Megan Gilley Zielen and Montana Moore great grandchildren Charli, Carsyn Wyatt, Bayden, Henley, Koby and Layne. Brother Freddie Harvey (Jean) Sisters Carole Overby, Sarah Sutton (David) Laura Mae Shreve numerous nieces and nephews and his mighty protecting K-9’s Daisy and Hooch.

Though Ralph may no longer walk among us Earth side, his legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the cherished memories we will forever hold dear. In the laughter of his grandchildren and the stories shared around the dinner table by his siblings and children, his presence will be felt, a comforting reminder of the love that bound us all together and continue to guide us as we navigate the journey of life without him.

Your work here is done, but your spirit will live on in our hearts forever. In his words “I’m not ready to go but I’m prepared” and what a testimony that is.
