Herbert Bowers, age 76, passed away on Monday afternoon, October 4, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6 from 5 to 7pm at Fair Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, October 7 at Overlook Cemetery.

Herbert was born on June 16, 1945 to the late Hammie Lee Bowers and Ruby Melissa Moretz Bowers. He was also predeceased by his wife, Molly Jo Taylor Bowers and two sisters, Christine Wall and Elaine Rieson. 

Herbert was a life-long textile worker for Fieldcrest Mills, Spray Cotton Mills and Unifi, Inc. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and raising game roosters. He loved sports, (especially the Washington Redskins) and NASCAR.

Herbert is survived by two daughters, Jenny Bowers of Greensboro and Debbie Chambers of Eden; sisters, Geraldine Bowers and Jeanine Bowers, both of Eden; brothers, Byron Bowers of Fort Mill, SC, Russell Bowers (Alania) of Eden and Henry Bowers of Knoxville, TN.
