Obituary For Edith Jane Pendleton
April 6, 1961 - June 5, 2021


Edith Jane Pendleton, age 60, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021, at the Gibson Home (Hospice of Rockingham County).

A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Reidsville Christian Church, 2020 South Park Drive, Reidsville, at 6 pm. 

Jane was born April 6, 1961 in Rockingham County, NC.  She was the youngest of 7 children born to Henry A. and Irene Pendleton, Sr.  She was a strong and dedicated Registered Nurse for over 30 years.  She obtained her ADA in 1992 from RCC, her BSA in 2002 from WSSU and her MDA/MBA in 2007 from Pfiffer where graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors.  She had worked as a charge nurse in ICU, a high school medical career teacher, a floor nurse, unit manager, ADON & DAN at various nursing and rehab facilities and as a hospice and home health care nurse.  She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother.  She was an independent woman that did things her way in life with the guidance from God.  She was active in church where she was in charge of opening The Fidelis Sunday school.  She was an active member of the Sew loved ministry, where is helped sewed masks during the COVID 19 outbreak.  She loved indoor and outdoor flowers.  She loved to sew and cross stitch and scrapbooking. She loved the mountains, loved to camp and fish.  She loved to travel and been to places such as Germany, England, Canada, Western Caribbean cruise, Bahamas, Hawaiian islands cruise, various bus trips to New Orleans, Gatlinburg and Commerce, Georgia.  She went on an annual shopping trip on black Friday. 

She is survived by her three children, Liza Jane Lewis, Crystal Gail (PooBear) Lewis and Forsyth S. Lewis III (Bubba); step-son, Mike Kennon; two step-daughters, Jamie Laura Doyle and Autumn Marie Ball; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters, Sandry Faye Hardy and Nancy Pendleton Marchman; two brothers, Henry Allen Pendleton and Arthur Lee Pendleton. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Fleeta Mae Thompson and a brother, Howard Pendleton.
