Sara “Ellen” Craig Burroughs, 97, passed away early Sunday morning, November 22, 2020, at UNC-Rockingham Health Care in Eden.

A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, November 25, at Roberts Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.  She will lie in repose at Fair Funeral Home on Tuesday from Noon to 6 pm for those that wish to come by to pay their respects and sign the register.

Born May 7, 1923 in Rockingham County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Jeter J. Craig and Nellie Amos Craig.  Ellen had worked for Fieldcrest Mills.

She is survived by daughter, Brenda Beach and husband, James, of Eden; son, Wayne Burroughs of Stoneville; four grandchildren, Tim Burroughs (Melissa), Tonya Dillion (Jeff), Craig May (Susan) and Brandon Burroughs; six great-grandchildren, Travis Brame (Maci), Bryce Burroughs (Libby), Jordan Craig (Joshua Kendrick, fiance’), Bethany Burroughs, Sadie May, and Sutton May; and four great-great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kylie and Allie Brame and Jace Kendrick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Burroughs; three brothers; and six sisters.
