Steven Lynn Durham, age 53 of 291 Mebane Bridge Road, Eden, passed away on Friday January 3, 2020 at his home.

A graveside service will be held 2 pm Monday at the Smith Family Cemetery, Wolf Road, Stoneville.  The family will receive friends at Fair Funeral Home 1 hour prior to the service from 12:45 till 1:45 pm before proceeding to the graveside.

Steve was born September 22, 1966 in Rockingham County to Gladys Corum Durham and the late Cable Curtis “Dig” Durham.

Steve worked at Home Lumber Company where he thought of everyone there as his family. He loved his job, and lived his life to the fullest. Even in his illness he kept his humor and joked to the end. He will be missed and loved by many.

Surviving are wife, Carolyn Johnson Durham of Reidsville; mother, Gladys Corum Durham of the home; sister, Cynthia “Cindy”  Durham Broadnax (Charles) of Summerville, SC; nephews, Michael Durham, Michael, David, and Zach Broadnax, Josh and Shiane Corum; great nephew, Tristan Broadnax; great nieces, Khone Corum and Katelyn Turner; close friends, Todd Evans and Ray Shelton and everyone at Home Lumber company and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Karen Johnson, whom he thought the world of ; and a special cousin, Barry Cobb, Sr.

In addition to his father, he was preceded by his brothers, Curtis Kenneth Durham and Jerry Wayne Durham and niece Jennifer Lensy Broadnax.

The family would like to say thank you to the Hospice of Rockingham County for all the love and care they showed and to everyone at Home Lumber Company for all their love and help.
