She served on the Altar Guild for many years, served refreshments for children at Vacation Bible School, and organized many dinners for the church. Volunteering was a large part of her life. She and her husband, David, worked the front visitor desk at Morehead Memorial Hospital for 15 years. That "special team" was honored as Volunteers of the Year for 2010. She was involved in many other organizations through the years such as Spray Fire Department Auxiliary, Garden Club and a volunteer for the MR Church School transporting adults/children to that special Saturday school.
