Obituary For Ellie Brightwell Wright



Ellie Brightwell Wright, 93, formerly of North Oakland Ave. and most recently of Morehead Nursing Center, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 10 am at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with Rev. Joe Hall presiding. Burial will follow at Bouldin Memorial Presbyterian Church in Stuart, VA. Born in Danville, VA, she was predeceased by her parents Eddie Bowman Brightwell and Leola Brightwell Baugh, as well as sisters Lou Annie Ramsey and Oleta Ramsey and brother Robert Baugh. Her beloved husband, Warren S. Wright, preceded her in death, and they shared the loss of a stillborn baby girl. Surviving to cherish her memory are sister Clennie Keatts of Pelham and brother Russell Baugh of Chatham, VA. Her surviving children, who loved her dearly, along with their spouses, are Bill Wright (Peggy), Tom Wright (Frankie), Florence W. Price (of Shallotte), Arlene W. Roberts (Joe), Brenda W. Moore, Martha J. Wright (of Charlotte), and Louise W. Price (Philip). Also left with many wonderful memories are the following grandchildren, along with their spouses and the many great-grandchildren: Billy Wright, Keith Wright, Brett Wright, Brian Wright, Tommy Wright, Darren Wright, Leigh Ann Wright, Jerry Wright, Hugh Price, Shannon McCall, Gary Price, Jennifer Griffin, Bradley Boyer, Louis Bullins, Lee Bullins, Renee Locklear, Tracey Ross, and Ashley Moore. She also is remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews. She was a loyal and hard-working member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), serving on the Evangelism Committee, Ladies Aid, and also as a past caretaker of the church rose garden. She was a generous contributor of wonderful cakes to the many church bake sales and to her numerous friends and neighbors. Her beautiful sewing skills graced many a local bridesmaid and made her one of the best-dressed ladies around. She was always loving and always giving, but always ‚Äö?Ñ??in charge.‚Äö?Ñ?? She will be missed. Her family is extremely grateful to the loving care she received from the angels on staff at Morehead Nursing Center. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 pm, Wednesday, August 11, at Fair Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Darren and Karen Wright at 627 Highland Drive.
