Obituary For Vernon Allen Scott Vernon Allen Scott, 68, of 535 NC 700, passed away Sunday night, May 16, 2010 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth. A funeral service will be held a 2 PM on Wednesday, May 19 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Scott was born March 13, 1942 in Stuart, VA, son of hte late Albert and Cora Chaney Scott. He was a painter and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving is his wife, Frances Scott of the home; daughter, Melinda Bowman of Eden; four sons, Robbie Bowman and wife, Rhonda, Daryl Bowman, both of Eden, Tim Bowman and wife, Ramona of Stoneville, and Mark Bowman of Eden; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Curtis Scott and wife, Geraldine and John Scott, Jr., both of Eden; and sisters, Hazel Hopkins and husband, Rick of Eden, Kathryn Morrison and husband, Russell of Stuart, VA, and Pam Scott of Raleigh, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Gardner; and sister, Nan Boyd.
