Obituary For Mary Ellen Durham Smith November 16, 1935 - August 16, 2013 Mary Ellen Durham Smith, 77, of 4840 Price Road in Stoneville, passed away early Friday morning, August 16, 2013, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, August 18, at First Assembly of God Church in Eden. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery. Mrs. Smith was born November 16, 1935 in Henry County, VA; daughter of the late Richard and Mary Sharpe Durham. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church and was a CNA for the Aging, Disability and Transit Services of Rockingham County (formerly known as Rockingham County Council on Aging), where she had worked for many years. She is survived by her son, Randy Smith and wife, Colletta of Stoneville; daughter, Deborah Shreve and husband, Jeff of Stoneville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six brothers, Robert "Crip" Durham of Stoneville, Bobby "Tojo" Durham, Richard Raymond Durham, Jimmy "Joe" Durham, Curtis "Dig" Durham and Glenwood "Bill" Durham, all of Eden; and sister, Katie Lester of Eden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Leroy Smith; brothers, Bernice "Bud" Durham and Lewis "Noke" Durham; and sisters, Shirley Cobb and Frances Hodges.
