Herman Talmadge "Tal" Hubbard, 83, of 409 Moorefield Store Road in Stuart, VA, passed away Thursday evening, June 6, 2013, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, June 9, at First Church of the Brethren in Eden, NC. Burial will follow in Topeco Church of the Brethren, 3460 Floyd Highway in Floyd, VA.
Mr. Hubbard was born November 4, 1929 in Spray, NC, a son of the late James Ivan and India Wade Hubbard. He was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hubbard was a retired manager of Ryder Trucking Company.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah Hall Hubbard of the home; daughter, Teresa H. Sewell and husband, Ricky of Gray, GA; son, Richard "Rick" Hubbard of Melrose, FL; granddaughter, Ashley Hale and husband, David of Warner Robbins, GA; great-grandson, Tucker Hale of Warner Robbins, GA; and brother, Wayne Hubbard and wife, Nell of Eden, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Perkins.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 6 - 8 PM, Fair Funeral Home.

My condolences to the family on the loss of Herman, and particularly to Teresa and Rick. I remember him from many years ago, when Teresa and I were in junior high school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I would see him occasionally when I went over to their house. Such a good looking man! Like Clark Gable. I know that he is so very special to Teresa and Rick, and it will be hard going for a while. Love to both of you!
