Mason Averill Sutphin, 70, of 131 The Boulevard in Eden, passed away Tuesday evening, February 19, 2013, at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, February 22, at Overlook Cemetery.

Mr. Sutphin was born July 19, 1942 in Christiansburg, VA; son of the late Walter and Eleanor Beinkampen Sutphin. He was a US Air Force Veteran and a retiree of Miller Brewing Company after 26 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Sutphin of the home; son, Allen Sutphin and wife, Wendy of Winston-Salem; daughter, Sherry Burns of Eden; grandson, Anthony Mason Minichello of Eden; granddaughters, Stephanie and Rebecca Montgomery of Eden and Willow Allen of Winston-Salem; and one sister, Jeanette Stephens and husband, Eddie, of Dublin, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Robin Sutphin Minichello.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Smith-McMichael Cancer Center, 516 S. Van Buren Rd., Eden, NC 27288.
