Mildred Boone Dodson,age 92 of 230 East Harris Place , passed away on Friday January 18, 2013 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Sunday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tom Auker. Burial is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Dodson was born December 22, 1920 in Rockingham County to the late Charlie and Minnie Carter Boone. She was a member of First Church of the Brethren and a member of the Friends Club and former member of Eden Home Extension Club. Mrs. Dodson retired from Fieldcrest Mills.

She was preceded in death along with her parents, her husband Walter Dodson, sisters, Nancy Fulcher and Reba Klatt. Surviving is daughter, Sandra Mitchell and husband Sanders of Chouteau, OK; grandchildren, Bryan Mitchell and wife Janet of Norman, OK; Kimberly Harrison and husband Chris of Pryor,OK; greatgrandchildren, Amber and Erica Mitchell, Hannah and Trent Harrison; sister, Cameron Schaub of Salt Lake City; brother, Bobby Boone of Ellicott City, MD; nieces, Peggy Nesbitt and husband Robert of Eden, Yvonne Bateman of Ridgeway, VA; nephews, Randy and Nina Hylton, Coy Hudgins both of Eden.

A visitation will be held from 12:30 til 2 pm on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Coy, Nina & all the family we all know what a wonderful person Mrs. Dodson was. She touched many lives in our church family and will be greatly missed by all. Sandy, Mitch & entire Family, I will always remember Mildred anticipating her Beach/Fishing trip with youall. Jean & I enjoyed playing ROOK with her while watching the beautiful SNOW out her patio window 'til midnight. We became serious ROOK players like Mildred wanted US to be! Ha! Skip-Bo was great also. Chelsey loved working Puzzles at age 4 & up with Mildred. Fond memories of Mildred will remain with me. God be with youall.

Sandra, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Since I have not had any communication with you or the family in many years, I was not aware of her still living in Eden. I will always remember she and your dad when you lived on the Stoneville Road. They were so good and kind to me as a teenager in taking me to church and allowing me time at your home.
