To my Ruby,Duby, Duby, I have missed our daily phone conversations while you were so very sick and will forever miss them now that you have gone to Heaven to be with all your dear loved ones. You will be in my thoughts and my heart forever, dear friend. It was so much fun talking about the boys we both dated and did not realize it until we started talking after the 50th Class Reunion in 2006. When we first began our telephone friendship, that is when you told me that you married JB Baughn. JB lived on First St., and we lived on Second St.,in Oakland Heights. He was several years older than I was, but I can remember that he was friends with my brothers. They called him John Banner. My Momma and Daddy were friends with JB's parents; so we had fun talking about them too. After finding out all this, we felt so much more connected. Since you did not have a sister, we just adopted each other. Our personalities were so much alike. We laughed so much and had so much fun. Since I told you that when I died and my ashes would be put in the Sound behind my house; and you said that I would be a "little mermaid" and you would come swim with me. Well, my Ruby, Duby, Duby, you went first so you will have to wait a little while before we can swim and tell funny things and laugh together again. Phil and I love you, our Dear Friend, and will miss you until we meet again.

It was a privilege to care for Mrs. Baughn - I am one of the ostomy nurses at WakeMed and I cared for her on many occasions. I loved her quick wit and sassiness!! We shared lots of laughs during some very difficult times. She will be greatly missed. My love to the family.
