John Charles "Meany Man" Kallam age 42 of 222 Roberts Road, Eden, passed away on Friday morning December 7, 2012. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery.

He was born August 13, 1970 in Eden, NC. to Calvin and Beatrice Watkins Kallam . "Meany Man" was formerly employed at Frontier Spinning.

Surviving along with his parents are son,Jacob Nathanial Kallam and daughter, Harley Nicole Kallam; brothers, David and Russell Kallam all of Eden.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Drew Watkins and paternal grandparents, Charlie and Nina Kallam.

A visitation will be held Sunday from 6 - 8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.

I was deeply sadden to learn of Meany Man's (John's) passing. He was such a sweet young man. I don't think I ever saw Mean Man when he wasn't laughing or smiling. He will always remind in my heart as a special froend. My heart is heavy for you all. I will be praying for strenght mercy and grace in the up coming days. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. To the Kallam family, John and I went to school together at Holmes Middle School and later at Morehead High School. John was a good friend and I will miss knowing that he's around. John was a good person ererytime i came to visit my sister and he was there with his kids he was always so nice to me and my son. his babies will miss him thay loved him dearly, he was a good dad and a good person he will be missed.we never know whats going to happen from one day to the next thats why we all need to just love eachother and forget the past our father would wont that.John is with our father now and my you RIP John we will miss you but i will see you oneday friend.and i know your babies will miss you.

[ worked with John for over 10 years at Parkdale Mills. He always made I and other coworkers laugh no matter how bad the day was going. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. My prayers go out to his family
