Harvey Eugene Lester, 95 of 158 Sherry Lane in Stoneville, passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday at Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mr. Lester was born December 9, 1916 in Rockingham County, to the late Robert J. and Minnie Martin Lester. He was a founding member of the Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church and was retired from American Furniture Company in Martinsville, VA. He was also a farmer.
He is survived by two sons, Charles "Gene" Lester and wife, Judy of Stoneville and Robert "Frankie" Lester and wife, Susan of Stoneville; three daughters, Janice Pate and husband, Bobby of Eden, Wanda Lester of the home, and Phyllis Nance and husband, Donnie of Stoneville; seven grandchildren, Sherry Stephens, Tonia Vaughn, Jimmy Nance, Heather Lawson, Tina White, Cindy Shelton and Robby Pate; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a special aunt, Lona Martin Harvey; and two sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Coleman and Peggy Carlisle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Juanita Ferguson Lester; an infant sister, Myrtle; brother, Bob Lester; sister, Ruby Lester; and a grandson, Jeremy Nance.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6 - 8 PM at Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church and other times at the home of the son, Frankie, at 312 Anglin Mill Road in Stoneville.
