Virginia" Preston" Meadows James, 79,of 2554 NC 135, Stoneville, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 1, at Trinity Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. James was born July10, 1933 in Spray, NC, daughter of the late Roy and Delphia Lawson Meadows. She was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church and a retiree of E. I. Dupont.
She is survived by her husband, Carl James of the home; son, Dennis James and wife, Melia of Madison; daughter, Donna Lamb and husband, Michael of Stokesdale; two grandchildren Danny and Kellye Dix; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home.

preston holds a very special place in my heart there are so many fond memories me and my family have of her...she was always there for all of us in good times and bad. she is with her heavenly family now and i know she is having a glorious time...so goodbye for now my special aunt.but like i told you only a few days ago...we will see each other again some day and to GOD BE THE GLORY.....love you always linda

Preston, Where do I begin. I so remember you being my "second Mom" when my first child was born. I don't know what I would have done had it have not been for you being there for me.
