John Irie Brammer, 85, of 215 Fairway Drive, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 26, at Lawson Cemetery. Reverend Joseph Hethcoat and Reverend Lindsay Poteat will officiate.
Mr. Brammer was born December 21, 1926 in Leaksville, NC, son of the late Paul and Mary Phillips Brammer. He was a US Navy veteran and 12 year member of Spray Baptist Church. Mr. Brammer was a retired mechanic with NASA at Cape Canaveral.
He is survived by his wife, Verlena Lindley Brammer of the home; daughters, Rebecca Lynn Nettles and husband, Doug, of Stark, FL and Kimberly Bragg and husband, Wayne of Davie, FL; seven grandchildren; and brother, Paul Stone Brammer, Jr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Freddie Brammer, John Paul Brammer and John Raymond Brammer; sister, Juanita Fuqua; and brother, Jack Phillip Brammer.
There will be no formal visitation, however, the family will be gathering at 215 Fairway Drive.

Many years ago I was asked to find you for your son John Raymond Brammer. It was an honor to bring you both together. You were so nice and grateful. I will never forget how excited when you called me after I had contacted your Sunday School teacher that Raymond wanted to meet you. I wish I had been able to go to the reunion to meet you. May you rest in peace.
