Lottie Virginia Wray Ball, age 89 of 1841 E. Stadium Drive, passed away on Monday April 16, 2012 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A Funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday, April 19, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Dan View Cemetery.

Mrs. Ball was born May 19, 1922 in Leaksville, NC, daughter of the late Thomas Cleveland and Lindie Clark Wray. She was a very active member of First United Methodist Church of Draper and was a member of the Ladies Circle 5. During World War II and after she worked for Karastan Rug Mill. However, when Mrs. Ball retired she was the co-owner of Leaksville Shoe Store.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford Garnet Ball of the home; daughter, Denise Ball Segraves and husband, Dale of Winston-Salem; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Lemons Ball of Eden; five grandchildren, Mitzie Purdy, Kimberly Wright, Jessica Porter, Jordan Wiggins, and Daniel Segraves; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Danny Ball; brother, William T. Wray; and sister, Mazzie Curry.

The family will receive friends Thursday morning, one hour prior to the service (10 - 11AM) at Fair Funeral Home.

My sympathy to Cliff and the family. I worked for Lottie and Cliff at Leaksville Shoe Store from 1978-1980 - what a fun time. Great people - I know she is missed already, but there's laughter in heaven with Lottie there now.

Cliff, My heart and prayers are with you during this time of need. She was blessed to have such a wonderful husband. I'm just as lucky to have such a wonderful Uncle. So So sorry for your loss, Working with Clifford and Lottie at the Shoe Store was always a hoot,around 1978/79. Lottie will always be one of my favorite people along with that precious husband of hers.
