Charlie W. Parrish, 76, of 2501 Peach Orchard Rd in Axton, passed away early Friday morning, March 23, 2012 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 26, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the family cemetery.

Mr. Parrish was born July 5, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, VA, son of the late Lloyd T. and Martha K. Ferrell Parrish. He atended Souls Harbor Holiness Church. He was a carpenter and retiree of Piedmont Glass.

He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Stout and husband, Darrell of Cascade, VA; sister, Nannie Pyrtle of Axton, VA; brother Clifton Parrish of Danville, VA; two grandchildren, Kenny and Charles Warren; three great-grandchildren, Aidan, Jordan and Edwynn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Parrish was "Pa" to numerous children of the neighborhood.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Nichols Parrish; and son, Charles Terry Parrish.

There is no formal visitation, however, the family is receiving guests at the residence.

My sincere sympathy goes out to the family of Mr. Parrish. He was a kind and sweet man that I will always remember fondly. He was also the great grandfather to my grandson, Aidan Warren. God comfort all of you and give you peace in this hour of grief and loss.

Wanda, I'm so sorry for your loss, but he is in a better place today, no more suffering. But OH what good memories you have of him,the both of you had such a wonderful relationship and so close. Our thoughts and prayer are with the family. Charlie was a good man and I remember when I was little and he would come home from work and bring pop or candy for Aunt Martha and me. He would have yard games for all the kids to play. He will be missed. We send our Love to all the family at this time
