Peggy Wilson Gray, 74, formerly of Stoneville, NC passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Stanleytown Health Care Center in Bassett, VA. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 25 at Matthews Chapel United Methodist Church in Stoneville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Gray was born April 11, 1935 in Stokes County, NC, daughter of the late John Franklin and Minnie Brown Wilson. She was a member of Matthews Chapel United Methodist Church and a retiree of Tultex, Inc. Surviving is her son, Robert E. Gray of Bassett, VA; brothers, Leroy Wilson of Sandy Ridge, Cecil Wilson of Reidsville, and Bunny Wilson of Sandy Ridge; sisters, Mildred Collins of Mayodan and Janie Williams of Sandy Ridge; one grandchild, Annie Baker of Spencer, VA; two step-grandchildren, Brandon Foster of Roanoke, VA and Stephen Foster of Bassett, VA; and one step-great-grandchild, Halie J. Foster of Roanoke, VA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Gray; brother, Gilmer Wilson; and sister, Virginia Wilson Hawkins. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 7 - 9 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 236 Kimberly Road , Bassett, Va. Memorial donations may be made to Matthews Chapel United Methodist Church, 996 Smith Road, Stoneville, NC 27048. Online condolences may be offered to the Gray family at www.fairfuneralhome.com
