I meet Shirley at 220 Beauty Salon and we instantly became friends. For years we were always there at the same time every two weeks and enjoyed out visits until she retired and changed her times. I always asked about her from Deborah Roberts. Deborah told me about her illness. Terri she loved you & the children very much and spoke of you all the time. I want you to know you & your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know you are going to miss Shirley but she is with our Lord with no more suffering. God Bless, Teresa Jamison

Words can not express how sad I am to learn of Shirley's passing. She was the most kind and generous person I knew. I worked with her for ten years in Henry County Schools and continued to connect with her after her retirement and my relocation. She was very good to my father-in-law during his time of illness and death. I will miss her greatly and my sincere sympathy to the family. I lost a true friend. Katina Pettit

Terri, I am so sorry that I cannot be there for you. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Shirley's death. I have very fond memories of visiting her regularly when you all lived next to us, and you and I playing Barbies for hours on end. Please keep in touch.

I was in one of the first Home Economics classes taught by Miss Wilson at Franklin County. She was a wonderful and pleasant teacher whose first guidance was instrumental in my "trying to sew". As the years have passed this guidance has allowed me to make quilts for my friends and family including three grandchildren. I am very sorry to learn of your loss. I have very fond memories of this beautiful teacher from my youth.

I will always cherish the working relationship and the special friendship that Shirley and I shared. She was truly a generous, caring and loving person. We spent many days just talking and sharing ideas about changes for our profession. I will miss her dearly. I'm so grateful for having known Shirley and to have been able to "shadow" her for an entire summer. She was one of the BEST in the school nutrition field. Heavens gain is our lost. Shirley will definitely be missed, but her beautiful memory will be cherished for years to come.

My thoughts and prayers go to Shirleys family and friends who she made feel like family. I have been very blessd to have had her in my life through the Nutrition program with Henry County Public schools for almost 25 years and am proud to call her my friend. She not only was a great school food service director but she became very dear to my family, watching my children grow from the time they were born until they have reached adulthood, she has supported them through fundraisers, graduations, weddings and so many other ways, she always asked about them whenever we talked. She was there for me in 1988 when my father passed away and again in 2011 when my mother passed. She sent me a crepe myrtle tree when my mother passed and now I will think of her and my mother each year when it blooms. We have lost a very dear person but heaven has gained a very special angel.

Shirley was a lovely light of life. With those sparkling eyes and cheerful voice. it was always a joy to be around her. I worked in the same school with Shirley for several years and was in her presence a number of other times. My thoughts are with all members of her family and very close friends at this sad time.
