John Albert Scott, Jr., 82, passed away late Tuesday night, March 29, 2011 at Brian Center in Eden. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, April 1, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery. Mr. Scott was born January 24, 1929 in Patrick County, VA, son of the late John Albert and Cora Chaney Scott. He was a member of King Memorial Baptist Church and a retiree of Ridgeway Clocks in Ridgeway, VA. Surviving is his daughter, Lynn Hill and her husband, Pete Corum of Concord, NC; son, James Scott and wife, Elaine of Havana, FL; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Curtis Scott; sisters, Katherine Morrison, Hazel Hopkins, and Pam Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four children. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of his brother, Curtis Scott at 11829 Hwy 87 in Eden. To All of the family and extended family members of Junior, we are all saddened to hear of Juniors passsing. We will always remember the good times we had when he visted with Nan and Larry .. He was so full of life, loved to see he smile and hear that laugh he had, if you were sad he could always make you laugh.. Junior will be greatly missed by us all..
