Edward Nelson "Eddie" Wilson, Jr., 61, of 702 James Street, passed away early Monday morning, February 14, 2011 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 16, at Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville, VA. Mr. Wilson was born June 19, 1949 in Rockingham County, son of the late Edward Nelson and Christine Blackwell Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a US Army veteran having served in Germany, a former employee of Spray Cotton Mills until their closing and later worked in maintenance for an apartment complex in Reidsville. He took great pride in his work, never missing a day. He enjoyed shopping and walking with his sister. He was an active member of Harmony United Methodist Church in Danville serving as a certified lay speaker, teaching Sunday School and head usher. Surviving is his sister, Irene Wilson Cochran and husband, Curtis of Ruffin. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
