Louise Bloodworth Smith, age 96 of 206 N. Henry Street, Stoneville, passed away on Tuesday January 16, 2018 at her home.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Stoneville with burial to follow at Stoneville City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 till 11 am.

Mrs. Smith was born September 12, 1922 in Bladen County, NC to the late James Herbert and Ora Lee Cain Bloodworth.  She was the oldest member of First Baptist Church of Stoneville.  Louise retired from the Rockingham County School System where she taught for 35 years as a Elementary School Teacher.

Preceding her in death along with her parents were husband, Thomas J. Smith; and daughter, Marilyn Leigh Smith.

Surviving are sister, Mozelle Parleir and husband Truette of Wentworth; nephews, Wayne Parleir and wife Liz of Eden, Mike Parleir of Asheboro and additional family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be offered to the First Baptist Church of Stoneville, 300 E. Main Street, Stoneville, NC 27048 or to Hospice of Rockingham County, Po Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Smith's passing. Although living a long life, she will be truly missed by all that knew her, I'm sure. Remembering her from school many years ago teaching with my aunt, Gertrude King, Mrs. Smith was such a delightful lady. Bless her heart and God bless the remaining family members.
