Genelle Smith, 90, of 14582 Old 87 North, passed away Tuesday night, December 7, 2010 at Brian Center in Eden. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 10 at Woodlawn Cemetery. Born April 7, 1920 in Leaksville, NC, Miss Smith was the daughter of the late Reuben T. and Dollie Patterson Smith. She was a member of Church of Christ in Ridgeway, VA for 60 years. Miss Smith was a retired beautician. Surviving is her sister, Irvine S. Hartley of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother, J. Eldridge Smith; and three sisters, Inez S. Meadows, Norma S. Kale, and Clarice S. Fields. The family will receive friends at the home of Alvin Smith, 141 Cicero Trail in Eden. I am so sorry about Nell, she was such a sweet lady. I hope she is resting in peace with our Lord in Heaven. I know she loved the Lord and her last years were hard ones but it is still never easy when our loved ones pass on. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
