Cable Curtis "Dig"  Durham, 79, of 291 Mebane Bridge Road in Eden, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018, at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, October 18, at Smith Family Cemetery on Wolf Road in Stoneville.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Mr. Durham was born February 12, 1939 in Henry County, VA, to the late Richard and Mary "Goldie" Sharpe Durham.  He was retired from Lynrock Golf Course.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Corum Durham of the home;  son, Steven Lynn Durham (Carolyn) of Eden;  daughter, Cynthia Durham Broadnax (Charles) of Summerville, SC;  grandchildren, Michael Durham, Michael Broadnax, David Broadnax, Zach Broadnax, and Shianne Corum;  great-grandchildren, Katelyn Turner, Tristan Durgin-Broadnax, Khione Corum, and Josh Corum.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Curtis Kenneth Durham and Jerry Wayne Durham;  granddaughter, Jennifer Lensy Broadnax;  seven brothers, Bernice "Bud" Durham, Lewis "Noke" Durham, Johnny and Jack Durham, Robert "Crip" Durham, Raymond Durham, and Bobby "Tojo" Durham;  and three sisters, Shirley Cobb, Frances Grubb Hodges, and Mary-Ellen Smith.
