Judy Stephens Sams, 71, of 180 Marlin Road in Cascade, VA, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 11, 2018 at her home.

A graveside service will be held 11 am on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Mrs. Sams was born on October 26, 1946 in Rockingham County to the late Henry Jesse Stephens and Eva Smith Stephens.  She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Old Time Baptist Church.  Judy retired from the Do Drop In.   She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Ann Sams and husband, Michael Carter of the home; her sons, James Clayton Sams, Jr. and James Clayton Sams III both of Danville, VA; sisters, Ruth Stewart of Eden and Ellen Barker of AR; sixteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Clayton Sams, Sr.; son, Ricky Allen Sams and daughter, Janet Marie Sams.
