Carl John Studdard

August 15, 1949 - July 29, 2018

Carl John Studdard, 68, of 749 Davis Street in Eden, passed away Sunday evening, July 29, 2018, at UNC-Rockingham Health Care.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 4, at Overlook Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Rockingham County Veteran's Honor Guard and the US Navy Honor Guard. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Mr. Studdard was born August 15, 1949 in Maryville, Tennessee, to the late Roy Chilton Studdard and Paula Hacker Studdard. He was a graduate of Morehead High School, Class of 1968 and a US Navy veteran. Carl was an avid sports fan, following the Carolina Tarheels, Dallas Cowboys and the Tennessee Volunteers. He was employed by Quality Associates. Carl was well known from his employment at grocery stors in Eden. He was a good, respectful person and never met a stranger. He was a great brother and will be missed.

He is survived by his brother, Timothy Ray Studdard of Eden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Roy Earl Studdard.

Carl was a hard worker, very conscious of his job in the grocery store. Easy going, quiet, just did his own thing. May God bless the family during this time of loss.
