Donald Umstead departed this life on Sunday, January 7, 2018.  He was born in Eden, NC to the late John Nathanial and Della Lee Umstead.  He was a member of the US Naval Reserve, a graduate of East Carolina University and a Certified Public Accountant.  He retired from the State Department of Administration Office of Budget and Management.

Donald is survived by his wife, Sarah;  children:  Kim Ipock (Donald) of Vanceboro, NC;  Wayne Umstead, Janice Umstead, and Felicia Newman of New Bern, NC.  Stepchildren:  Dr. Bob Crocker (Mieko) of Knoxville, TN; Forrest Crocker and Bill Crocker of Raleigh, NC;  grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, July 5, at Lawson Cemetery in Eden, NC.
