Jack Saunders Barker, 81, of 338 Shady Grove Road in Eden, passed away Tuesday morning, June 19, 2018, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, June 21, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  The family receive friends one hour prior to the service (10 - 11 AM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Mr. Barker was born January 25, 1937 in Leaksville, NC, to the late William and Lena Barker.  He was a member of Osborne Baptist Church and was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.  Jack loved working outdoors and enjoyed camping.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Washburn Barker of the home;  two daughters, Julie Ferguson of Eden and Diane Harris of the home;  two grandchildren, Jamie Younger (Jennifer) of Dry Fork, VA and Chris Snowdy of Eggleston, VA;  and four great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Olivia Younger, Brayden and Dominic Snowdy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Craig Barker and his brother, Howard Barker.
