Sylvia Emory Pulliam, 82 of 11361 Greensboro Road, Ridgeway, VA passed away Thursday afternoon, April 19, 2018, at her home.  

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 23, at First Baptist Church of Ridgeway.  Interment will follow the service in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway, Va.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Sylvia was born on July 27, 1935 to the late John C Emory and Ruth L. Emory.  She was a graduate of Leaksville High School, Class of 1953 and a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgeway. Prior to her retirement in 1994, Sylvia was the owner and operator of Sealtest Dairy Bar and Grill.  

Mrs. Pulliam is survived by her children, Anne Crowder of Reidsville, Jennifer Lynne Connors (Kevin) of TN, and Amy Winn (Eric) of Martinsville, VA; sister, Dr. Fran Emory (Ed) of Morehead City; brother, John C. Emory, Jr. (Lea) of Midlothian, VA; sisters-in-law, Emily Brooks of Ridgeway, VA and Janet Lester (Billy) of Carthage, NC; six grandchildren, Sara Smith (Kevin) and April Fargis (Jordan) both of Reidsville, NC, Wesley Vandiver and Samantha Vandiver both of TN, Jacob Winn (Jessica Sutphin) and Dianna Winn both of Martinsville, VA; great-grandchildren, Eli and Katie Smith, Camdyn and Amelia Fargis, Tyson Vandiver, Brittany Oldland (Will) and Lathan Smith.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene W. “Bookie” Pulliam and brother, E.F. “Jimmy” Emory.

The family would like to thank their extended family at Mountain Valley Hospice for their kindness and care of Mama and her family.
