Margarette Meeks Trent age 96 of 503 Monroe Street, Eden passed away on Saturday March 24, 2018 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

Mrs. Trent was born May 31, 1921 in Rockingham County to the late Powell Grant Meeks and Annie Taylor Meeks. She was retired from Fieldcrest Mills.

Surviving are daughter, Shellie Ann Shelton and son, Richard H. Trent both of Florida; two grandchildren and numerous great grand-children; special nephew, Jessie Meeks and wife Adrian of Eden; special friends, Patty Ethridge, Patty Burroughs and Sylvia Smith.

She was preceded in death along with her parents, sisters, Mary Frances Johnson and Nancy Kirkman; brothers, Dan , Haywood and Esau Meeks; special grandson, Robert D. Shelton.

To honor Mrs. Trent's wishes there will be no formal funeral service.

I have know Margarette for so many years from my childhood to working with her at Fieldcrest mills even after I moved away from Eden she was always there for me and my visits back home were made special by going to see here We call her Granny I will miss this special women in my life my prayers to the family David Wilmoth
