Virginia Earnhardt Ritchie, 100, of 725 Rosewood Lane in Eden, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, March 22, 2018, at the home of her son. 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsville, VA (1527 E Church St, Martinsville, VA 24112).  Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 – 8pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Bobby Ritchie (720 Rosewood Lane in Eden).

Mrs. Ritchie was born August 28, 1917 in East Spencer, NC to the late Louis Earnhardt and Nannie Sink Earnhardt.  Virginia retired from Duke Energy after 35 years of service.  She enjoyed traveling especially to the beach where she loved to surf fish.  Mrs. Ritchie also enjoyed spending time in her yard where she loved to tend to her flowers.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her children, James Ritchie and wife, Mary Ann of Charlotte, NC , Larry Ritchie and wife, Pam of Greenville, NC, Carolyn Adams and husband, Richard of Union Hall, VA, and Bobby Ritchie and wife, Linda of Eden; eight grandchildren, Melissa Ritchie, Christine McCutcheon, Matthew Ritchie, Brandon Ritchie, Dawn Bradley and significant other, Steve Cobb, Kim Myers and husband, Jeff, Chris Ritchie and wife, Lauren and Rick Adams and significant other, Diana Connors; eleven great-grandchildren; and special friend, Millie Priddy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Ritchie; one grandson; one great-grandson; three sisters; and one brother.
