Kenneth Byron Cruise, Sr., 80, of  332 Daniel Adkins Street in Eden, passed away Friday morning, March 2, 2018, at Jacob's Creek Nursing and Rehab Center in Madison.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, March 5th, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Overlook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Mr. Cruise was born March 24, 1937 in Leaksville, NC to the late Payton Pete Cruise and Alpha Williams Cruise.   He was a very active member of First United Methodist Church in Draper.  He worked for over 40 years for Smith & Lane Appliance Company and later owned and operated Cruise Appliance Repair.  Mr. Cruise enjoyed automobiles and spending time with is wife.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Medre Adkins Cruise of the home;  son, Kenneth "Barry" Cruise, Jr. and wife, Tina of Stoneville;  grandchildren, Christopher Brian Cruise of Eden and Kendra Cruise-Holley and husband, Caleb of Danville, VA;  great-grandchild, Hayley Cruise;  sister, Lucy Bradford of Eden;  and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ruby Wray, Evelyn Vernon, Dorothy Cruise, and Vergie Shively;  and brothers, Melvin and Payton Cruise.
