John Robert Burchett, age 92 of 503 Long Street, Eden passed away on Sunday evening February 18, 2018 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 3 pm Dan-View Cemetery.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside and other times at 503 Long Street.

Mr. Burchett was born March 21, 1925 in Surry County to the late James Irvin Burchett and Naomi Blackburn Burchett.  He worked for Dan River Mills and later retired from Fieldcrest Mills where he was a loom fixer.  He was a member of First Church of the Brethren.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by wife Elaine Radford Burchett; daughter, Linda Sparks; son, Randy Johnson and brother, Herman Burchett.

Surviving are son Allen Burchett and wife Kim of Efland, NC; daughter, Jean Craven and husband Jacob of Eden; granddaughters, Olyvia Taflan and husband Matt of Gastonia; Hillary Griffin and husband Kyle of Durham; Meredith Craven and husband Trey of Burlington; Mandy Sivers and husband Allen of Eden; Diane Burgess of Martinsville and grandson, Tracy Craven of Eden; greatgrandchildren; Matthew, Abygail, Michael and Oliver Taflan, Spencer Craven, Avery and 

Zane Hazzard, Trey Silvers, Ryan Burgess and Gabriel Belcher.
