Gloria was an independent, strong-willed woman who left a legacy.  Her sense of humor provided a source of laughter for her family even when it was not intended.  Her loves were her Lord, her family, the beach and Wheel of Fortune.  She cried every time se prayed, lit up when her family was around and longed for Panama City Beach.  We lovingly say goodbye, until we meet again, knowing you are now with our heavenly Father.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet McClintock of Eden;  three grandchildren, Steven Garmon (Sarah) of Draper, VA, Jennifer G. Langley (Daniel) of Burlington, NC, James W. McClintock (Tanya) of Boiling Spring, SC;  18 great-grandchildren;  14 great-great-grandchildren;  one great-great-great-grandchild;  and two brothers, Harold Lafferty of Crawfordville, FL and Calvin Lafferty of Burlington, NC.

I recently found an old letter from "Mackie" that she mailed to me in 2011 after she left Panama City Beach.  She and Walt were an important part of our lives from 1994 to 1998. She kept both our children, Connor & Kristen, until they were old enough to go to day care.  Connor even went on a trip with Mackie and Walt to south Florida to visit family.  I have thought of her often but did not have an address for her. She would be happy to see the wonderful, successful adults that Connor and Kristen have become.  They fondly remember their time with Mackie and Walt.

I just wanted her family to know she was special to us.
With love,
