Robert Watson “Bobby” Walker, 85, of 1247 Norman Drive of Eden, passed away on Monday evening, January 8, 2018.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.  Interment will follow in Overlook Cemetery with military rites performed by the Rockingham County Veteran’s Honor Guard and U.S. Army Honor Guard.

Mr. Walker was born in the Leaksville section of Eden on September 28, 1932 to the late Dock Rudy Walker and Minnie Jackson Walker. He graduated from Leaksville High School.  Bobby served his country proud in the U.S. Army Military Police.  He attended Deep Springs Baptist Church.  Bobby loved to ride motorcycles and was a charter member of Goldwing Road Riders Chapter W.  He retired from E.I. Dupont.  Bobby will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Mr. Walker is survived by his wife,  Jewell Sparks Walker of the home; sons, Mike Walker and wife Marlo of Eden and Robert Talley of Stoneville; daughters, Donna Walker and Sarah Pierce and husband Curtis; grandchildren, Neil Chaney, Robert Russell Talley, Ashley Carter and Bryson Walker; step-grandchildren, Billy Drear, Lexi Drear, Kinsey Mabe, Justin Hartman, Julia Wolford and Wade Hartman; great-grandchildren, Cayden Hayes, Emma Hayes, Mason Talley, Cohen Talley, Elin Talley, Austin Carter, Kaylee Carter, Wyatt Carter, Tyler Mabe; sister, Betty Rice and husband, Joe and Rudene Flynn and husband, John and brothers, Steve Walker and wife Billie and Sanford Walker.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Davis Walker.

I have many fond memories of hanging around his garage with Lonnie Tolbert, he always had fun no matter what he was working on. I remember he had a sign on the wall, " If I can't fix it, it ain't broke", and that was very true. Praying for peace, for the family in the days ahead.
