Ms. Frances Aiken, 84, of Eden, NC passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

A memorial service will be held at Leaksville Methodist Church on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm.  A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the church for family and friends.  An internment service will be held at Wake Chapel Christian Church in Fuquay-Varina, NC, January 13 at 1:00 pm.

Ms Aiken was born in Fuquay-Varina on November 4, 1933.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Hill Aiken and Fannie Reid Mann Aiken, and a brother Walter Leonard Aiken.  She is survived by her sisters Mary Lynn Aiken MacDonald (Woodrow) and Julia Mann Aiken Brown (Justin).

Frances attended Peace College, earned a BS degree from East Carolina University, and a Masters degree from The University of North Carolina in Greensboro, NC.  Frances taught business courses in high school and later at Rockingham Community College for a number of years. Frances was very active in her Church, serving as church secretary, and in community activities helping to deliver Meals On Wheels, and Friends of the Library. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, puzzles, scrabble, crocheting and needlepoint.   Frances particularly enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews: Valerie (Bob), Lisa (Yuichi), Christopher (Erin), Corey (Jenny), Jeremy (Ciara), and Daniel, her great nieces and nephews Austin, Ashton, April, Whitney, Brandon, Alex, Lucas and Samantha MacDonald, and was blessed by all of her many wonderful friends in Eden, North Carolina.

She will be truly missed by all who loved and cared for her so much.  In lieu of flowers donations are welcome at the Leaksville Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
