William Gordon Sawyers, 90, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, January 7th, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (2 - 3 PM) at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Mr. Sawyers was born December 1, 1927 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Roy Atkinson Sawyers and Beulah Gann Sawyers. He was a US Marine Corp veteran and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jones Sawyers of the home and numerous nieces and nephews.
