Rosemary Hopkins Austin, age 82 a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, fought the fight, finished the race, she went home to be with Jesus, Saturday morning December 30, 2017 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County, after a long struggle with her health.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  A visitation will be held on Monday evening January 1st from 6 - 8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times 

Mrs. Austin was born January 21, 1935 in Algoma, West Virginia to the late Richard Green Hopkins and Texie Mae Tedder Hopkins.  She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and also attended Liberty Baptist Church and loved all animals.

Preceding her in death along with her parents was husband of 46 years, James Austin and sister Louise Cooke and brothers, Earnest Hopkins, Roy Hopkins, Buster Hopkins, and Jr. Hopkins.

She is survived by her children, son Mike Austin and wife Brenda of Reidsville; daughters, Tana Austin of Eden, Karen Hicks and husband Keith of Ridgeway;  5 grandchildren, James Meeks of Eden; John Meeks of Alabama, Angela Austin of Wilmington, Michael Austin, Jr. of Reidsville and Michelle Archer fo Eden; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Hartness of Eden; a special niece and caregiver Nancy Dishmon and many other nieces and nephews whom she loved.
