Scott Ryan Hoover, 43, devoted and loving father, son, brother, and friend to many in Eden, passed away very unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 16th, at Leaksville United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at the church and other times at the home of his parents, 301 Pinewood Place.

Scott was born April 5, 1974 in High Point, NC. He was a graduate of Morehead High School, Class of 1992 and attended Rockingham Community College for two years. The single most important part of Scott's life was his love and devotion to his daughter, Kadence. She was his reason for being. She dearly loved her "Daddy" and will miss her time with him as she grows up. Our pride in Scott as a father to Kadence is immense and will help his Mother and I through this difficult time.

Scott was also a devoted son and always there to help, and with his wonderful sense of humor ready to lighten the gloomiest of days. He was a great brother and friend to his sister. Many people in Eden know and were touched by Scott. He leaves a void that will never be filled. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid NC State fan.

He is survived by his daughter, Kadence Hoover; his parents, Kenneth and Sylvia Hoover, all of Eden; sister, Kim Hoover of Cary; wife, Jo Corum Hoover of Eden; and grandmother, Doris Hoover of Jamestown.

Friends have established a Trust Fund for is daughter. Memorial contributions may be made to: Kadence Hoover Trust Fund, c/o Home Trust Bank, 106 S. Van Buren Rd., Eden, NC 27288

To his mom and dad and kim...i don't know if you even remember me , I've stayed a few nights at your house when I was young...me and Scott worked out together he use to work at Procter and gamble 5 mins from my house. So he would stop by on his way home or before work..when they lived off cedar st or Carter st ( I can't remember) I use to come by there and hang out with him a little...we stayed in contact on the phone....im sorry , this is the 3rd close friend I've lost since my best friend in 2016...its all I know to say , it never gets better I just learn to live with it...ill bring some money over when me and Josh Reynolds come in from Texas for his daughter...
