Joseph Sinclair Ragsdale, Jr. of 602 Briarwood Drive in Eden, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 21, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday at  The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany on Henry Street in Eden.  Military rites will be performed on the church lawn by the Rockingham County Honor Guard and the NC National Guard.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. 

Mr. Ragsdale was born June 19, 1930 in Leaksville, NC, to the late Joseph Sinclair Ragsdale, Sr. and Louise Robbins Ragsdale.  He attended Woodberry Forest and The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  Joe was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.  He retired from 3M Company as account executive.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Reeser Ragsdale;  sons, David Whitehurst Ragsdale and wife, Marsha, Joseph Sinclair Ragsdale, III and wife, Linda;  and daughter, Mary Ragsdale Bridges and husband, Barry;  three grandsons, Forrest Ragsdale, Reese Bridges and Adam Bridges;  four step-grandchildren, Dan Bailey, Katie, William and Michael McNamara;  brother, William Ragsdale and wife, Annie Joe;  nephews Robb Ragsdale, George Ragsdale, Bryant Reeser;  and nieces Malissa Hundley and Heather Ragsdale.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 538 Henry Street, Eden, NC  27288 or to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 381, Wentworth, NC  27375.
