Martha Jane Saunders Boyte, 90, of 1075 Chumney Loop Road in Eden, passed away early Saturday morning at her son’s home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Pleasant View Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.  Interment will follow the service in Overlook Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 – 8 pm at Pleasant View Baptist Church and other times the family will meet at the home of Kevin and Sandy Boyte; 1075 Chumney Loop Road in Eden.

Mrs. Boyte, was born in the Spray section of Eden on April 16, 1927 to the late Luther A. Saunders and Sally Willie Shivley.  She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.  Martha retired from Fieldcrest Mills as a sewing machine operator.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Mrs. Boyte is survived by her daughters, Patricia B. Roland (Gene), Joan B Pratt (Ed), Beverly B. Patterson (Robert), Myrna B Moorefield (Bobby Farmer) and Debra B DuBois (Gilbert); sons, Michael Boyte (Yuvonne), Kevin A. Boyte (Sandra); 15 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Boyte her son, Mack Boyte; brothers, George Garland Sanders, Roy Saunders, and Luther “Buck” Saunders; and sisters, Pauline S. Barham and Gaydale Richardson, Mae Saunders

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Boyte’s caretaker, Aimee Vernon for all the love and compassion she showed Mrs. Boyte.
