Herbert Hale Fulcher, Jr., 92, of 11547 NC Hwy 87 South in Eden, passed away Friday afternoon, October 6, 2017, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, October 9, at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Reidsville.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites being performed by the Rockingham County Veteran's Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 4 - 6 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.

Mr. Fulcher was born July 15, 1925 in the Leaksville section of Eden, NC, to the late Herbert H. Fulcher, Sr. and Lillian Wimbush Fulcher.  He was a graduate of Leaksville High School, Class of 1942 and was a World War II US Navy veteran and a Seabee who served in the Pacific and received various metals for his service.  Mr. Fulcher retired after 34 years from E. I. Dupont where he was a purchasing manager for the plant.  He also owned Fulcher Oil Company and serviced the Eden area for many years.  As a dedicated member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, he served as a Deacon, sang in the choir, was a member of The Gold Star Sunday School class, the Building Committee and various other positions. He was a wonderful father who truly loved his daughter and the Lord and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Fulcher Barbour and husband, Chuck of Greensboro. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Norman Fulcher and his only brother, Leonard S. Fulcher.
