Bobby Dean Joyce Jr., 60, passed away at his home  in Stokesdale, North Carolina, on Friday, September 22, 2017.  A funeral service will be held at Leaksville Christian Church on Thursday, September 28 at 11am with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday evening at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of Bobby and Hazel Joyce in Eden.  

He was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on May 8, 1957.  Dean will be remembered for his strong work ethic that started at age 14, and included jobs as a school bus driver when he was a Senior at Morehead High School (1975), and also worked for Spray Cotton Mills.   Dean spent the majority of his career working for Duke Energy at the Dan River Plant in Eden, North Carolina, for 38 years, where he ultimately served as an Operations Team Supervisor.  Dean was a car enthusiast having owned Novas and his beloved Mustang.  He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.  He was an avid sports fan and loved to watch the UNC Tarheels and the San Francisco 49’ers, as well as professional golf.  Dean loved his family and embraced his role as son, brother, father and Poppie.  His most recent attention was spent with the “lights of his life” –Hazel, his mom, Kristin, Jacob, Megan, his children, and Corbin and Camden, his grandchildren.   Dean was a member of Leaksville Christian Church where he enjoyed seeing his church family every Sunday.  He will be remembered for being a person who would help friends and family, as he had a loving and very compassionate heart for people. 

He is survived by his children, Kristin Joyce (Josh Stanley) of Stokesdale, NC, Jacob Joyce and Megan Joyce, both of Greensboro; grandchildren Corbin and Camden Stanley. He is also survived by his parents, Bobby Dean, Sr. and Hazel Joyce of Eden, NC; two sisters, Robin Joyce and Melanie Joyce, both of Eden ; two brothers, Keith Joyce of Kannapolis and Todd (Christa) Joyce of Apex, NC;; Lisa Joyce, mother of his children, along with three nieces and  six nephews.
