Lucille Hopkins Hundley, 92, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 31, 2017, at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville.

A graveside service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, September 3, at Danview Cemetery.  There will be no formal visitation. The family will meet at the residence, 6119 NC Hwy 700 in Eden.

Mrs. Hundley was born November 11, 1924 in the Draper section of Eden.  she was the daughter of the late Luther and Alberta Ross Hopkins.  She was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.  Lucille was a member of Happy Home Congregational Christian Church and loved her church family.  She was very proud of her time working on the Hundley Farm and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and reading her Bible.  Lucille loved to make and give cane purses.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Ellington (John) of Reidsville;  granddaughter, Lori Beth Denny (James "Curt");  great-grandson, Adam Porter;  and her special friend, Diane Hayden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hundley;  grandson, John "Jason" Ellington;  and siblings, Samuel "Alvis" Hopkins, Elizabeth Patterson, Orene Powell, Raymond Hopkins, Luther Noel Hopkins, and Lee Hopkins.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or to Happy Home Congregational Christian Church, 6941 NC-700, Ruffin, NC 27326.
