Elizabeth "Lib" Underwood Woods, 88, of 670 Highland Park Drive in Eden, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 6, 2017, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 9, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 1681 Snead Road in Stoneville.

Mrs. Woods was born July 3, 1929 in Rockingham County to the late Cicero William Underwood and Mollie Stratton Underwood.  She was a retiree of E. I. DuPont after 33 years of service.

She is survived by her son, Freddy Brady and wife, Deborah of Stoneville;  daughter, Debbie Smart and husband, Archie of Reidsville;  two grandchildren, Cathy Lemons (Earl) and Freda Orris;  two great-grandchildren, Landon Austin and Jackson Lemons;  five step-children in the Massachusetts and Maine area and several step-grandchildren in the northeast United States;  brothers, George Underwood, James "Cub" Underwood (JoAnn), and Billy Underwood all of Eden;  sister, Sunshine Hudson of Reidsville;  son-in-law, Jimmy Paschal of Reidsville;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Woods;  daughter, Gayle Paschal;  seven brothers, Jesse Underwood, Joe Underwood, Claude Underwood, Cicero Underwood, Sam Underwood, Frank Underwood and Oscar Underwood;  and three sisters, Ruby McGuire, Mollie Edwards, and Mary Lilly Underwood.
