Fay Noles Edens, 87, of 617 Valley Drive in Eden, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 5, 2017, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, July 8, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.

Ms. Edens was born May 9, 1930 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Willie Van Noles and Lucille Campbell Noles.  She was a graduate of Leaksville High School, Class of 1948. Fay was actively involved with her classmates and enjoyed participating in all class functions.  She was a retiree of E. I. DuPont and Rexham Corporation.  Fay will be remembered by her family as a fun-loving and adventurous lady who, at the age of 86, went zip-lining, making seven of the 10 runs. She enjoyed the beauty of nature and spent hours sitting by her picture window watching the birds.  Fay loved her family and the gatherings that brought them all together.

She is survived by her two daughters, Dara Dunn of Ruffin and Dana Mitchell of Eden;  granddaughter, Shannon Hale of Eden;  sister-in-law, Helen Noles of Browns Summit;  nephew, Andy Noles and wife, Starr along with their children, Bryce and Blake of Concord; niece, Amy Noles;  and many cousins from the Forbes and Campbell clans.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Douglas Van Noles and Harold Wayne Noles.

Dara, Dana, Helen and the entire family, I found out today (Oct 16, 2017) that Fay is now in Heaven. I was saddened to hear of her passing but rejoice that we know where she is! My Mom, Dorothy Robertson Canady was one of Fay's classmates and very good friends. I believe they may have grown up on the same street. While my Mom was receiving chemo and radiation in 2006, Fay came to stay with Mom several times to help her with meals and keep her company as well as most likely transporting her to treatments. Mom was one the the six, along with Fay of the "girls" that got together for their birthday dinners. They did this for several years. I am so grateful that Mom and Fay reconnected over the last 15 years or so and that they all spent time together each time one had a birthday. Mom loved Fay and so did I!
